Universal Studios Singapore

Southeast Asia's only Universal Studios park, on Sentosa island: seven film-themed zones from Hollywood to Minion Land, a monorail ride from HarbourFront.

Quick facts

Typical hours
10:00–20:00
Ideal visit
A full day, from opening to closing. The park's own tips say to arrive when it opens because rides start at staggered times, and the evening ticket exists for a shorter visit.
Best time
Arrive at opening time and check the official calendar for that day's closing time. Ticket prices follow date tiers (Non-Peak, Peak, Super Peak); a Non-Peak date may also be a quieter one, but that is our guess from the pricing, not an official crowd forecast. Outdoor rides can pause when there is lightning risk.
  • Toddler-friendly

How labels are scored

Labels are computed from the fact sheet: walking distance (1–5), seating availability (1–5), wheelchair and stroller rental. They are not opinions.

  • Senior-friendly: walking score 2 or lower and seating score 4 or higher.
  • Some walking for seniors: walking score 3, or little walking but few places to sit.
  • Demanding for seniors: walking score 4 or higher.
  • Toddler-friendly: toddler-ride score 4 or higher and strollers for rent.
  • If a score has not been confirmed, we show no label.

Universal Studios Singapore (USS) is the movie-themed park inside Resorts World Sentosa, on Sentosa island just off the city’s southern coast. Its zones run from Hollywood and New York to Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away and the newest, Minion Land. Tickets are dated, and the price depends on whether your date is Non-Peak, Peak or Super Peak.

The short version: pick your date on the official calendar, buy the ticket for that date, install the official app, and be at the gate when the park opens. Only add Universal Express if you’re going on a busy date with one day to spare and everyone in your group is tall enough for the big rides. This guide covers the zones and rides, ticket tiers, an honest look at Express, the trip from HarbourFront, a day plan, height limits for kids, halal food and prayer rooms.

Highlights: zones and rides

USS is built around a central lagoon, and you walk through one zone into the next. Here’s what each zone is known for, with the official minimum heights.

Sci-Fi City: Battlestar Galactica and Transformers

The twin Battlestar Galactica coasters, HUMAN and CYLON, are the park’s headline thrill rides; CYLON is the one that takes you upside down. You need to be at least 125 cm. Loose items aren’t allowed: staff screen riders with a metal-detector wand before boarding, so use the lockers at the entrance. Nearby, TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle starts at 102 cm.

Ancient Egypt: Revenge of the Mummy

An indoor high-speed coaster in the dark, with backwards motion, fog, strobe and fire effects. The minimum height is 122 cm, and like Battlestar it has lockers at the entrance. One of the park’s prayer rooms is in this zone too.

Two giant jackal-headed Anubis statues in black and gold armour with white kilts, holding staffs, guard a doorway in a sandstone wall carved with hieroglyphs

The Lost World: Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure

A river-raft ride where you will get wet and may get soaked. It starts at 107 cm, and there are drying pods nearby for afterwards. The same zone has Canopy Flyer, a suspended coaster from 92 cm, and Dino-Soarin’, which has no minimum height on the official list.

Far Far Away: Shrek’s kingdom

The castle from the Shrek films anchors this zone. Puss In Boots’ Giant Journey is a family coaster from 102 cm, and Enchanted Airways is a junior coaster from 92 cm. The Shrek 4-D Adventure show and Magic Potion Spin have no minimum height, which makes this a good zone for younger kids.

Minion Land

Illumination’s Minion Land, the newest zone, opened in February 2025. Despicable Me Minion Mayhem starts at 102 cm, and smaller guests can watch it from stationary seating. Silly Swirly, a spinning ride, starts at 92 cm, and the Buggie Boogie carousel has no minimum height. The second prayer room is here.

New York and Hollywood

New York faces the lagoon. Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase starts at 110 cm, and Ready, Set, Rescue! is a climbing attraction for kids aged 5 years and up. Over in Hollywood you’ll find Mel’s Drive-In, one of the park’s halal-certified restaurants.

Tickets and how to buy

Every USS ticket is for one specific date, and the price depends on that date’s tier: Non-Peak, Peak or Super Peak. Prices change, so check the current price for your date on Klook with the ticket button on this page. The kiosk price at the park isn’t published, so buy ahead.

  • One-Day Ticket: Adult (13 and older) and Child (ages 4 to 12) versions, priced by date tier.
  • Evening Entry: a single ticket type, labelled Adult, with entry from 16:00 and a meal voucher included.
  • 6-Month Season Pass: Adult and Child versions, for repeat visits.

In the calendar we checked, late October was Peak, November was Non-Peak and December was Super Peak, so year-end holiday dates fall in the busiest tier.

Two things the official store doesn’t sell. There’s no senior ticket: The official online store sells only two age bands for the One-Day Ticket, Adult and Child; it shows no separate senior price. And no official page we read says that children under 4 enter free. Some third-party sites claim it, but ask the park before you rely on it.

Which ticket should you buy? For a first visit, the One-Day Ticket. The Evening Entry ticket suits a short visit, but it’s only sold on selected dates. A 3-Park Pass that adds Singapore Oceanarium and Adventure Cove Waterpark was on sale for only a few dates when we checked.

Rules worth knowing before you pay: The One-Day Ticket is dated: you pick the visit date when you buy. Tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable and not exchangeable, even in bad weather, and resale is prohibited. No advance reservation is needed beyond the ticket itself; the park uses facial recognition at entry.

Universal Express: skip-the-line, and when you don’t need it

Universal Express is a separate, dated add-on that lets you use a shorter queue. Here’s exactly what it covers:

Universal Express skips the regular queue once at each participating ride and show (Universal Express 3: any three of them) and adds a priority entry lane during the first two hours of the day. It is dated, never includes park admission, and can only be bought online after a ticket is in your cart, or on site with your admission ticket. Not valid at Magic Potion Spin, Canopy Flyer, Treasure Hunters, Ready, Set, Rescue! and the front row of Battlestar Galactica.

Universal Express and Universal Express 3 are both paid add-ons on top of your park ticket, and the price rises on busier dates. There’s one price for all ages, so children pay the same as adults. It’s also sold at the regular price even when some attractions are closed, so check the closure list before you buy.

Do you need Universal Express?

Your situation Our take
Peak or Super Peak date, and only one day Worth a serious look
Everyone is tall enough for Battlestar Galactica, the Mummy and Transformers Good value: you’ll use the big rides on it
You only care about a handful of rides Look at Universal Express 3 instead
Young kids who mostly want the gentle rides Usually not. Several family rides, like Magic Potion Spin and Canopy Flyer, aren’t covered
Non-Peak date and you’ll be at the gate at opening Usually not. An early start and the app go a long way
Tight budget Probably not: it’s a paid add-on for every person in your group

When you don’t need it: on a quieter date, if you arrive at opening and plan around the app’s wait times, most groups can ride the headliners without Express. Families with small children often get less out of it, because several family rides, such as Magic Potion Spin, Canopy Flyer and Ready, Set, Rescue!, aren’t covered.

When it helps most: a Super Peak date in the school holidays, a group of teens and adults who want every thrill ride, and no second chance to come back.

Getting there

The park’s address is 30 Sentosa Gateway, Singapore 098140 (inside Resorts World Sentosa). Everything starts at HarbourFront MRT station, so take the MRT there from wherever you’re staying in the city, then pick one of these routes onto Sentosa.

  1. Take the MRT to HarbourFront.
  2. Walk into VivoCity mall and go up to the Sentosa Express station.
  3. Ride the monorail to Resorts World Station and follow the signs to the park.

In short: HarbourFront MRT, then the Sentosa Express monorail from VivoCity mall (Level 3) to Resorts World Station. The Sentosa Express charges an island entry fee, which you can pay with an EZ-Link card, a contactless bank card or at the ticket counters. Reduced or free rates apply to some seniors, children and concession-card holders. Trains run 07:00–00:00.

On foot over the Boardwalk

On foot: from HarbourFront MRT go through VivoCity Lobby F (Level 1), cross the Sentosa Boardwalk and follow the path into Resorts World Sentosa (B1 pedestrian access). Walking in is free of island admission. Part of the Boardwalk has been closed since 22 May 2025 for Resorts World Sentosa's waterfront works (expected to reopen in 2030); walkers are redirected along a new covered linkway. We don’t list a walking time because the island operator doesn’t publish one.

By bus

Bus: the RWS8 shuttle from HarbourFront MRT Exit C stops at the Resorts World Sentosa B1 Transport Hub after about three stops; public bus 123 also stops there. The RWS8 shuttle charges a fare going in and is free on the way out.

By taxi or ride-hailing

By taxi or ride-hailing (Grab, Gojek, TADA, CDG): ask for the toll-free drop-off at B1, Casino RWS, the recommended point for Universal Studios Singapore. Metered or app fares apply. Sentosa also charges cars and taxis an island entry fee at the gantry, based on the time of day.

Plan for the day

The park opens at 10:00 on every date in the current calendar. Closing time varies: 18:00–21:00 in the calendar we checked, with 10:00–20:00 on most days. The official site labels these hours “Open – Last Admission”, so the later time may be the last entry rather than when rides stop. Check your date on the official calendar the night before.

The night before: install the Universal Studios Singapore app (iOS and Android): ride wait times, show and meet-and-greet times, park map, height and health rules per ride, alerts and ticket/Season Pass details. Look up the height rule for each ride your kids want, and check what’s closed: Scheduled closures listed on 14 Oct 2026: Lights, Camera, Action! until 31 Oct 2026 and Treasure Hunters until 29 Nov 2026. The list changes; check the official closure page or the app before you go.

At opening: rides start at staggered times, so arrive when the gates open and head first to the ride your group cares about most. If thrill rides are your priority, start in Sci-Fi City; with small kids, Far Far Away or Minion Land makes an easier first stop.

Late morning: work through the next big rides while you still have energy. Ride Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure when you don’t mind being wet for a while, and use the drying pods afterwards.

Lunch: eat a little before or after the main rush. Every eatery has a kids’ meal, and four outlets are halal-certified (details below).

Afternoon: outdoor rides can pause when there’s lightning risk, so keep indoor rides and shows for stormy spells. Revenge of the Mummy is indoors.

Evening: check wait times in the app and catch up on anything you missed. Shop last: with the free Package Pick-Up, your purchases can wait for you at the exit. Remember there’s no re-entry once you leave.

Practical info and accessibility

Wheelchairs and single or double strollers are rented just after the entrance for a fee, which the park doesn’t publish. Selected outlets offer vegetarian and/or healthier choices; every eatery has a kids' meal that comes with a kids' drink.

Two prayer rooms in the park, in Ancient Egypt and in Minion Land. Both are air-conditioned, with separate rooms for men and women, wudu (ablution) facilities and prayer mats. Prayer garments are not provided, so bring your own.

Contactless payment is preferred. Accepted: cash, credit and debit cards, China UnionPay, Alipay, PayNow and RWS, Entertainment and Genting vouchers. NETS is not accepted, and WeChat Pay is not on the official list. ATMs are outside the park, along The Forum on Basement 1.
Wheelchair and stroller rental
Wheelchairs and strollers (single and double) can be rented on the left just after the entrance, first come, first served, for a fee. They can only be used inside the park; rental wheelchairs take one person up to 150 kg. Your own wheelchair or stroller is welcome. Motorised wheelchairs and ECVs cannot go on rides; transfer to a standard wheelchair at the attraction.
Family services
The Baby Center in the Guest Services area (on the left after the entrance) has private nursing rooms, changing beds, a kids' sitting area, feeding chairs and a hot-water dispenser. Every restroom has diaper-changing counters, and Sci-Fi City has a dedicated baby-changing room.
Child Swap
Child Swap: one adult waits with a child who can't or doesn't want to ride while the others ride, then swaps with them. Ask the attraction team or Guest Services.
Rides with no minimum height
No minimum height on the official list for Accelerator, Treasure Hunters, Dino-Soarin', Magic Potion Spin, Buggie Boogie and the Shrek 4-D Adventure show, but smaller children ride with a supervising companion. Hand-held infants are not allowed on some rides.
First aid and drying off
First Aid is available inside the park; ask any team member. There are no showers for guests, but drying pods near Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure help you dry off after water rides.
Package Pick-Up
Free Package Pick-Up: shop anywhere in the park and collect your purchases at That's A Wrap before you leave; they are ready about three hours after purchase.
Not allowed
Not allowed: pets (service animals are welcome), wheeled or motorised mobility gear such as scooters, skates, Segways and bicycles (only ECVs), drones and other remote-controlled devices, production cameras, vaping, and costumes, full-face make-up or masks outside the announced Halloween costume period. Smoking only in designated areas.
Re-entry
No re-entry: once you leave the park, your admission ticket cannot be used to come back in the same day. Season Pass holders may re-enter.

Common mistakes

  1. Buying Universal Express without a park ticket. Express never includes admission, and online you can only add it once a ticket is in your cart.
  2. Assuming the park closes at the same time every day. Closing time changes by date, and on some Halloween Horror Nights 14 evenings (a separately ticketed event) the park closes early. Check the calendar for your date.
  3. Carrying loose items to Battlestar Galactica or the Mummy. Phones, bags and anything in your pockets go in the ride lockers first, and Battlestar riders are screened before boarding.
  4. Counting on a senior or under-4 free ticket. The official store sells only Adult and Child tickets. Confirm with the park before you leave anyone’s ticket out of the budget.
  5. Leaving the park for lunch. There’s no re-entry on a day ticket, and outside food isn’t allowed in anyway (baby food and special diets are the exception).
  6. Buying Express for rides it doesn’t cover. Check the exclusions, especially if your group mainly wants the family rides.

FAQ

How do I check the price of Universal Studios Singapore tickets?

The price of a One-Day Ticket depends on your date’s tier (Non-Peak, Peak or Super Peak), with separate Adult and Child tickets. Prices change, so check the current price for your exact date on Klook with the ticket button on this page.

Is Universal Express worth it at USS?

It depends on your date and your group. On a Peak or Super Peak date with only one day, and with everyone tall enough for the big rides, it can save a lot of waiting. On a Non-Peak date, or with young kids who mostly want the rides it doesn’t cover, you can usually skip it. Remember it costs extra on top of your park ticket.

What time does Universal Studios Singapore open and close?

It opens at 10:00. Closing time varies by date (18:00–21:00 in the calendar we checked), so look up your date on the official calendar.

Do children under 4 need a ticket?

Child tickets cover ages 4 years to 12 years. No official page we read says in words that younger children enter free, so check with the park before your visit.

Is there a senior discount?

The official online store sells only two age bands for the One-Day Ticket, Adult and Child; it shows no separate senior price.

Is there halal food at Universal Studios Singapore?

Yes. Four outlets in the park are halal-certified: Mel's Drive-In (Hollywood), Oasis Spice Café (Ancient Egypt), Friar's Good Food and Goldilocks Fried Chicken (both in Far Far Away).

Can I bring food into USS?

Outside food and drinks are not allowed, except baby food, formula and food for guests with special dietary requirements. Bags are checked at the entrance.

What can small children ride?

No minimum height on the official list for Accelerator, Treasure Hunters, Dino-Soarin', Magic Potion Spin, Buggie Boogie and the Shrek 4-D Adventure show, but smaller children ride with a supervising companion. Hand-held infants are not allowed on some rides. Enchanted Airways, Canopy Flyer and Silly Swirly start at 92 cm, and Despicable Me Minion Mayhem has stationary seating for kids below its height limit.
